I'm looking for some reference points for my alley dock. 12 o'clock would be facing East, and my truck is setup at the 10 o'clock position.Space I'm docking in is at 6 o'clock. I've practiced with a Freightliner, but need to do the maneuver with an International pro star which has slower steering. Also, the practice site has more usable space at 11oclock for setting up the maneuver.I need to pretty much pull forward, from the space I'm docking in,serpentine up to the farthest point, and reduce the angle of the dock,to a 45 back. I've only got two more tries to pass my final test...any help appreciated.

The actual test site has a trailer, facing north and south, blocking the 11 o'clock position.Once I do a hard right and hard left, and clear the trailer at 11 o'clock,it opens up another 8 feet of front space to complete the maneuver. Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't really think I can give you any really helpful advice. It sounds like my test was set up different than yours. My truck was at a 90 degree to the spot. That plus is hard to really give you a definitive spot to stay making your turns without actually seeing the course. Normally I would say that you're just going to need more practice but seeing as you only got two shots left that won't help. The biggest key to alley dock is knowing when to start following the trailer into the spot. Since you said the international turns slower than I guess that would mean that your going to start jackknifing the trailer earlier as well as start following it earlier to. Maybe just concentrate on figuring out the truck on your first try and then nail it on your second try.

Sorry I don't really have anything solid for you. Good luck though

Youtube is your friend. There's a zillion vids on 90* alley docking (well, a dozen good ones at least).

An 11:00 setup is kinda weird though. That would make it a 100* alley dock. With the angle being even less - it should be easier to bend things around.

CR England Backing Video is one of the better one I've seen.

I'm blocked here from social media.I know they purposely put the trailer in that location for a reason. I can see the angle, but I'm practicing in a totally different vehicle on a totally different course. Looking for any tips to complete the maneuver in less than 15 minutes...unlimited pull ups and get outs. Thanks.

This is exactly how Prime's alley dock maneuver is set up and what I had to teach my student how to complete. He aced it once I taught him the reference points.
