Conway Truckload is based out of Joplin, MO and was founded in 1929. The company has grown into one of the largest trucking operations in the country and employs more than 28,500 people. Conway hauls mostly dryvan freight, although they are diverse in both Truckload as well as Less Than Truckload operations.
Conway operates across the entire United States as well as many parts of Canada.
Drivers in training must drive 7,500 miles with a certified trainer. This generally takes about 4 to 5 weeks.
Drivers are eligible to join the solo OTR division immediately following training.
The Conway Freight division only hauls dry van cargo.

Experienced solo drivers at Con-way Truckload start at $0.38 per mile and quickly increase from there.
In addition to your normal mileage pay, you will also earn bonus pay of $0.05 per mile if you are required to travel through these states:
Mileage pay is paid for all dispatched miles whether loaded, empty, or bobtail.
After 90 days of employment, drivers become eligible for discounted health and life insurance benefits. After 1 year of employment, drivers may enroll in a 401k matching retirement program and also become eligible for paid vacation pay and holiday pay.
Con-way Truckload offers paid tuition, room and board to drivers who commit to one year of driving for Con-way Truckload.
Expect to be out for 3 to 4 weeks at a time with 1 day of home time earned for every 7 days worked.
Con-way Truckload offers tuition reimbursement up to $4,000.
You may have a rider at no cost, a pet is allowed with a 1cpm decrease in pay.
Drivers may be required to carry freight into, out of, or through NYC and earn bonus cents per mile for doing so.
You must be able to drive a commercial motor vehicle in Canada and must obtain a valid passport within 120 days of hire.
If team driving is desired, Con-way will assist in pairing you up with another driver or you may find a driver on your own to team with. Team driving is entirely done by choice and is not forced.
Hazardous Materials:
A hazardous materials endorsement is required within 120 days of hire and you will be expected to transport hazardous materials when needed.
Drop And Hook:
Nearly all of Con-way Truckload’s freight is drop and hook.
Forced Dispatch:
All truckload drivers at Conway are forced dispatched.
Con-way Truckload has other the road, regional, and dedicated opportunities for solos and teams. This largely depends on where you live and your willingness to relocate for other positions.
Most trucks in the Truckload division are less than 3 years old.
10 speed manual transmissions or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
Trucks are governed at 65mph.
Trucks are equipped with APU's and inverters may be installed with shop approval.
Electronic logs are used.
