Project #1: Short Stories

Choose from the ideas below and write a short story about your experience.

• Requirements:

  • Original work, 100% plagiarism-free
  • Written in an interesting, engaging, and relatable voice
  • Minimum 400 words
  • All Submissions Due by June 10, 2022
  • Well-edited upon submission
  • Focuses on trucking or a trucking-related topic

  • Accepting submissions from all writing levels
  • Not all submissions will be used
  • Submissions we use are worth $25

Idea #1: Success Stories

Tell us a story of a major success in your trucking career. Ideas:

• Successfully earned your CDL
• Fixed a relationship with your dispatcher
• Delivered a very tough load safely and on-time against all odds
• Received an award or acknowledgment from your company

Idea #2: Hard lessons learned

Tell a story about a hard lesson you learned in trucking. Ideas:

• Accidents
• Tickets
• Fired from your job
• Late for an appointment
• Job-hopping gone wrong
• Argument that ended badly

Idea #3: Crazy things that have happened on the road

Tell a story about something crazy that happened to you on the road. Ideas:

• Got stuck on a highway and blocked traffic
• Got lost in NYC
• Met a celebrity
• Got caught in a terrible storm
