Just had Surgery, and applying for CDL-A paid school. DOT drug testing.
Thank you, and good luck!
If you provide documentation from your surgery, doctor and keep the prescription bottle you should be fine. I just had eye surgery on Monday, I asked the anesthesiologist for documentation listing what was given to me for the procedure in case it shows up on a drug test

Hello, wonderful trucking community,
I wanted to apply to a paid trucking program with a major carrier but I just had surgery a couple of days ago.
My question is, am I automatically not hireable because I don't think I will pass the DOT drug test. I was prescribed Tylenol w/ Hydrocodone to manage pain post operation. And from what I've read, this is one of the banned substances on the list.
Browsing through this forum, there are so many opportunities with Trucking if I can just safely make it through the first year or two. Oh and let me not forget, learn how to back and get pass my CDL-A. test. So many employment opportunities to satisfy long list of aspirations.
Thank you.

My surgery in March 2021 was no issue at all. Passed my drug test. At 53 after cancer diagnosis , contemplating on retiring now. Life is short.
