We are giving you the truth and giving you prudent advice.

So you knowingly intended to welch on your contract with CRST. You are totally in the wrong here.

I knew after reading your initial post where this was going to end up.

We are not going to tell you what you want to hear. You should seek advice elsewhere.

I don’t have a problem with taking advice or criticism it was a different way for saying what they said but thank you anyway for everyone’s help I appreciate it have a blessed day

I got a ticket the day before I started school

It hasn’t been 30 days yet so I’m praying they don’t suspend it my home town actually just mailed my physical copy but I am going to try my best to fight it I have already been on a payment with crst it was always my intentions to pay them I just didn’t want to work with them that’s all

No I didn’t have the time to go back to Iowa to fight it I left after getting my license to go in the truck with my husband so it was hard to find time to get back there but I am going to pay it this weekend for sure

It's quite possible you have a suspended license or it's in the process of being suspended. Iowa gives you 30 days to pay citations, get on a payment plan or respond to the courts that you're fighting it. It is going to be extremely hard to get hired anywhere if you have to deal with a suspension in addition to the speeding ticket.

Gtown also brought up a good point with CRST. They will send threatening letters to your prospective employers informing them you're still under contract until you fulfill your obligation or pay it off. CRST has won several lawsuits against companies that hire drivers still under their contract that many carriers will not hire you until the CRST contract is settled. Even if you would get sent home from CRST without getting your CDL they're able to enforce the terms.

You left the company that trained and still hired you after you got your ticket? Of all companies to do that with CRST was probably the worst idea because they have a reputation for holding people to their contracts like G said. Common sense doesn’t seem to be your strong suit so you’re probably not gonna listen anyways but the most solid career advice I can give and everyone here is going to say the same is just go back to CRST and fulfill your contract. If they won’t take you your other best bet is Western Express

I really wasn’t asking asking about all of that but for your information my plan was to go to crst for one reason I was never planning on working for them at all I just needed my cdls and I applied with them before I got the ticket if you you would of read my comment it was the day before I started school on my way there so I finished the school before it even showed up on my mvr now unless you have any info to help me out be on your way with the negativitie advice thank you have a blessed Day

By saying you were unable to fight it do you mean you unsuccessfully fought it or that you didn't hire a lawyer to do it? With a CDL or wanting to get your CDL its extremely important to fight every ticket. I received a citation a couple years ago that was $335. I paid the $600 for a lawyer to fight it (and get it dismissed) because the long term ramifications such ticket would have on my career. If it isn't paid by the due date you risk your license being suspended which is going to make your situation even more difficult to overcome.

Do you think I should get a lawyer I heard something about writing a letter to the courts where I got the ticket

18 over the speed limit is considered reckless driving by the majority of tricking companies. Not good.

You best disclose this to CRST now and “let the chips fall where they may”.

I already left crst for my own reasons.

How fast is the ticket for?

I assume it was speeding since you " trying to get around traffic going downhill"

Hello everyone I need some help please I currently got my cdl license the end of December 2021 but I received a ticket the day before I got the ticket in my car driving to Crst school I wasn’t able to fight the ticket and I haven’t paid it yet. Which companies will hire me? I have a good driving record I’ve worked for Amazon and FedEx ground I was just trying to get around traffic going down hill. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
