This is based on the company. Some companies are a lot more strict than others. You need to find a company that will take you on. Not all will but you gotta find just that one company. Apply to every company out there.
This will make it more difficult for you. But I don't think that it completely destroys your chances. You better apply to at least 20 different companies or else it's no ones fault but yours. Good luck and stay hopeful!
Thank You! There is a friend of my daughter that has already offered to take me under her wing and put me to work after I get my CDL. I'll ask her how she feels about this. It looks like this is going to limit my options quite a bit though. I feel a little better knowing this isn't a universal law like it sounds in that sentence.

It appears I have been wasting my time according to what I just read; "A driver who commits two of the above violations, arising from two or more incidents, is disqualified for life.".
Well, that's not what I wanted to see this morning. My last DUI was 19 or 20 years ago, but I guess that doesn't matter. Any confirmation of this would be appreciated.

That was great! Thanks for pointing me there and much love to Daniel B. for putting all that down. It gives me a much better idea of what I need to do.

Thanks for the reply. I am considering training with Central Refrigerated Service. However, I know so little I feel I need to do a LOT of discovery on this before I decide. Once again, it's great I found this spot. I don't think I need to start a post, I'm just going to soak up some information. The one thing I would like to hear about is CRS and if anyone has any good or bad experiences with them. Maybe a PM if it's not kosher discussing such things in the forum.

I haven't been lurking, just registered. I am on the verge of signing up with a company to go through their training and would like to learn more first. I stumbled on your site looking around for info. Thanks for the site, I'll be looking around and asking questions.
I decided to retire from drywall after 35 years, and the trucking industry seems to be pretty hot right now so here I go.

That makes me feel 100% better, thanks. Back to the books!
