Back in the early 2000's I worked for a local oil company delivering home heating oil in a Ford F 650 I believe it was. After about 3 years doing that, the "Bulk Oil" route became open and I took that position right away because not only was it local delivery, it was basically a regional job position also, with lots more miles/hours involved. Plus they were getting ready to upgrade the truck from another Ford F 650 to one of their transport tractors, which was a "million mile", black, '92 Peterbilt with a 425 CAT, straight pipes and the frame stretched to accommodate a 4000 gallon aluminum tank. Aluminum rims all the way around with floaters on the front. Sweet ride, to say the least. Got to drive it for about 2 years when, unfortunately that job ended for me. At that point I went back to work for a previous long time employer doing machinist work. After a couple of years and against the advice from the DMV woman, who told me that I would regret it later, I let my hard earned Class A w/ X endorsement go for a regular Class C license. Not one of my smartest moves indeed and I still to this day kick myself in my own keester for being such an idiot. Now, some 20 years later, I find myself seriously considering enrolling or hiring into a trucking company with a paid training program. Seriously considering. Almost decided actually. That's me and where I am at in my life right now. I'll keep y'all up to date. ;-) Oh yeah, my f*!#tardness didn't end after letting my Class A go, I also managed to accumulate a couple felony's in between then and now with my last conviction being right at 6 1/2 years ago. So I don't know if my yearnings are even possible... but maybe 🤔. Hmmm. I think I'm gonna be finding out.

Applying for CDL training program
I'm turning 64 soon and I have previous felonies. I'm pretty sure my last conviction date was right at seven years ago but I'm having trouble finding out that info online or otherwise. Some applications are very specific about how long ago my last conviction date was and some aren't but unfortunately the first training program I applied for turned me down almost immediately. Needless to say, that was pretty discouraging. Wondering now...did I miss something here? I mean, everything I've been researching was giving me the idea that my chances were fairly good for being accepted into a company sponsored CDL training program. Any comments would be appreciated. Sincerely, Bummed out in NC
