Drug Testing PRIOR to CDL

I've had my CDL for a little over a year now. I've worked for 3 different companies during this time period all where good to go no issues. I went thru a DOT check point yesterday, and the office is stating that in his system I am not a licensed CDL operator. Because I had a failed drug test while I was in crane school and getting my CDL. I have since passed many test including the one for crane school. I have my hazmat as well. Now I have been clean from maryjane for going on 2 years. But they are saying I need to attend rehad to get my license back. Has anyone heard of this? Why would a test i took before receiving my CDL effect me now.
