Schneider Paid for my flight to a school, tuition, hotel room to myself for the 4 weeks and a flight home. The exchange was I agreed to work for Schneider for 1 year. If I worked 6 to 12 months but less than 1 year I would refund 1/3 the investment and if I did not stay for the first 6 months I would owe back 2/3 the investment. I made a sharp right turn 9 days shy of my first 6 months, got hung on a few rocks and needed a tow for 10 feet backwards to get going again. This was my 1st rookie mistake, is not even DOT reportable as I did drive away and Schneider still terminated my employment 2 days later. (I forgot, swing wide its a trailer.) A couple weeks later I get a bill for $3052.00 in the mail, 2/3 the schooling investment that put a license in my hand. I posted my resume online the day I made my mistake and had a job in less than 2 weeks with several offers to pick from. 5 months later I start getting post cards with job offers from Schneider, who still want the $3052.00 and now the employee back as well. There are several other carriers who will hire most anyone and will get you the 6 months experience (Pam, Swift and USXpress for example.) You could then reapply to one of the lowest paid trucking jobs in the country, Schneider. The best advice it to be sure to watch the Youtube channel Bonehead truckers of the week, then try to not be an actual participant....
