Thanks to all that replied. To answer some questions the police were very hostile about the weed smoke so I guess everyone was afraid of speaking up. What I mean by fighting the case is going to court first for a hearing no judge there and the 2nd time pleading my case. I have looked for a lawyer but funds are low at the moment. The state was WI. Pending charges haven’t shown up on my motor vehicle report but without assuming I’m good just trying to beat the case.

Hope everyone here is all well. I just attained my CDL a couple weeks ago and have been applying to jobs each day. I have a fair driving record with 1 moving violation in 6 years. That said my sister got married in June and we drove 20 minutes to another state for the reception where weed is illegal. I do not smoke weed but my family were sittin in my car smoking as I smoked a cigarette. The police pulled up and only searched me and found less than a gram of weed in the car nobody confessed so I got held accountable for the weed and have been fighting this charge since June 2023. I take accountability for this happening even though it wasn’t mine and I don’t smoke weed maybe I shouldn’t have let them smoke in the car but it’s nothin I can do about it now. The case is pending as I’m still trying to fight it from being a conviction. 1 company has denied my application because of it and I don’t want to give up trying but is there anything I can do? I’m being honest and I can’t change what took place I just don’t want to lie and a couple hires me and finds out later down the line which could screw me even more but I haven’t been convicted just charged.
