Irregardless of what kinda turn was made, where you were, or why Werner booted ya out...there are some basic lessons that need to be learned from this...

NEVER assume that the 4 wheelers understand the swing of your truck, or the tracking of your trailer..THEY DON"T KNOW OR CARE. NEVER cut purposely cut lanes to make a turn. If your trailer happens to trim a lane at the end of the turn...ok..but don't set yourself up to do that thing. I make "L" turns..and I know that you are trained in school to make curved turns..theres a large difference...try it with a toy truck and trailer..the track ing is really different...

Now getting a job after being in an avoidable accident isn't impossible....and because this type of accident is so typical...it shouldn't hurt you to much. If you want to go back out there and use that cdl that you worked so hard for...get to putting in apps...You aren't the only one who has traded paint, or cross bred your trailer with something....it happens...EVERYDAY. We have some drivers here how have had it happen...its not life shattering...your response to it is what really matters.And the lesson to be learned from it is...no matter what you tell the reporting officer. Whatever the decision he makes, and the tickets he writes is usually how it will be viewed by all, unless fight it in court. So stewing over it will do nothing but make you bitter...Get over it and get on with your life....Its a battle you lost, but it isn't the War...

thank you for your answer i really appreciate your encouragement , i went to the court , i fought the ticket and they replace it from accident ticket(careless driving) to obstructing of traffic ticket which is a minor ticket with no point, but my problem now is how to overcome that termination from werner, do i have any chance to go back to trucking industry? i read many articles from experienced truckers who have experience from 3 years to 30 years ,they have accident then got terminated or terminated because of another reason, but when they apply for a job in another trucking company they never receive a call due to the termination in their records.thats not fair at all , this means one thing to me : u do a mistake ,then you are screwed no matter what how much experience,sacrifices, headaches u wet through while working for those trucking companies.Sincerely this push me to think of looking for another career.

Does not matter how many turn lanes there are. That particular accident has happened to so many drivers it's not funny. Hence the main reason why you are suppose to watch your mirror while turn at all times. But that's neither here or there now.

Here is the problem. You were fired. And by law Werner has to list something down as to why they fired you. What can happen if your really luck is to call Werner ' HR department and see if they will change the reason why to "Other" and allow you to explain what happened. The termination will still be listed on your DAC report but not the reason why you were fired. But you will have to explain something to the company that is hiring you about why you were fired. No getting the "Termination" title off your DAC report as it is your official work history. That is about the only thing that I can see ya doing.

So you are working with two things here. Your DAC which is your work history and your work record while at Werner. Even if you get Werner to change their record to "Other" for the reason of termination you will still have to contend with your DAC record saying you were terminated for "Safety Reasons" due to the accident.

Now here is another 5 hang you will need to think about. I am not saying your lying so don't take it like that. But companies do not fired someone over a simple fender binder. There are two reasons why this happens.

1) Before this accident you had a few questionable things happen and you made a history for yourself of questionable behavior. Or.....

2) while the accident might have seemed minor in the grand scheme of things MOST companies put a cap on how much money the accident cost them to fix. Most time that cap is set at around $8000 to $10000 dollars and with today's car that does not take much before hitting that cap which results in the insurance company stepping in and telling the company to let you go.

In either case is going to go in your termination file at Werner and on your DAC report.

Now on to getting another job....There is a paper trail to follow for this accident and another companies WILL have access to it even without calling Werner due to public record(DAC report). So if the accident was as minor as you say it was, and you better be sure it was, then most companies can over look one minor accident. But only if your truthfully in what your telling them. If your story does not match up to what is on record then companies will not touch you.

this cdl job is too much headache, ill just look for another career.i ve never wish things goes that way on me , anyway thats my fate thanks for your answer

How many "Left" turn lanes where there?

hello my name is karim,

my problem is i was terminated by my first driving company" Werner enterprises". after i finished my poor training , i drove 3 weeks by my self and got involved in an accident that was not my fault at all.

the accident description:u> i was in a traffic light intersection, there was three lines to cross the intersection, i was in the last line on the left side. a black 4x4 vehicle was behind me and there was a male and a female in that vehicle ,as i am driving a big truck , i always check my mirrors all the time,i noticed that the driver of the 4x4 vehicle was in a rush and tried to pass me even before i reach the traffic light of the intersection .so, because i am driving a 53 feet trailer i need to make a wide turn, while i was making a wide turn to the left from the last line in the left side of the intersection traffic light , the driver of the 4x4 vehicle behind me saw a small space while i was turning then he tried to go through that space , he thought that he can go through that space by speeding but while turning to make my trailer straight that space got tightened then he got stuck between the last part of my trailer and the small wall that split the highway and as a result i scratched his car from the right side there ws no injuries no towing .when police came, he lied to the officer and said that i was in the middle line and him was in the last line on the left side and i went to his line while turning.the officer stayed with the driver and the female almost 45 minutes then he came back to me and gave me the ticket of careless driving and that i was guilty, i told him what truly happened but he just ignored what i said and told me that i need to go to the court. after that i call Werner safety department and told them what happened, they ask me if i got a ticket then i said yes then they terminated me right away after i came back to the terminal in PA. Anyway, i hired a lawyer , and he managed to change my "careless driving ticket" to "obstruction of traffic ticket" with no point in my driving license. obstruction of traffic ticket does not even show up in the driving records. my questions : -Will i be able to get a job from any company i apply to? -Can i ask Werner to change my records in their data base from accident to no accident , i ask this question because i dont want Werner Enterprises tells any company i apply to that i had an accident while my DMV records dos not show any violation? -If i apply to another company, then they ask me if i have an accident or not shall i tell them that i had accident or no? what's the best answer? can any one answer my questions?? thank you so much for taking time reading my story REGARDS
