Hello. I’m interested in applying for a paid CDL program. I’m not financially prepared to make the investment, but I think the trade off is extremely generous for such a valuable skill. I’m worried about my safety. I’m not opposed to rooming or training on a truck w a male, and I’ve had pretty rough warehouse/construction/janitorial jobs…I also worked at Walmart three years, and for Postmates which gave me a good idea of navigating all road conditions. I’m not sensitive about jokes I don’t like or comments. It’s easy for me to smile and ignore for an easy time. I will get furious about sexual attention from coworkers or trainers. I need to learn and I do not play about driving safely. Driving is an all around privilege. I want to give you an idea of my personality and expectations before I ask…. What companies did you work for that accommodates you fairly? Do you get hotels with a man? I hope not, but if it’s what I have to do, I can suck it up for the CDL. I was hoping training w a male OTR for weeks would be cool. I’m not that picky, but did any of you have a problem with that? I’m used to rough work and language and even racism and misogyny. Just don’t touch me or try to hold my CDL over me through some bs. This is a real concern because I need to sleep and honestly learn. I’m excited to hear from you and thank you for reading and or responding.
