Embarrassing Question.. LOL... I pee a LOT
OK, We're all ladies here.. so - I am post-menopausal and I have found that I need to pee a LOT, and when I get the urge, sometimes it is a 'right now' kind of thing; and I am wondering if lady truckers have some 'in-truck' ways to take care of this so we don't have to keep stopping to pee? I am aware of the kegel exercises, but that hasn't seemed to help a whole lot yet. Any comments would be appreciated :)
When I drove a truck with my hubby I'd take along a can with a lid but that was way back in the 70's. My doctor once told me to stop wearing jeans all the time because your bottom needs to breath, lol, and jeans hold in heat from sitting all the time. Leggings and long skirts work if your legs need shaving and you can't wear shorts.
Thanks for all the tidbits- I am glad I had asked about this as I have learned a lot, and will put it all to good use when the time comes! Thanks to everyone who posted back!

As I go through the CDL Training Materials here, the things that trip me up are always the mechanical items. I do not have a mechanical background; for instance, I would be guessing if I had to point out the alternator. Will I be able to identify a leaky shock absorber? How will I know if the brakes look bad, if I don't know what good ones look like? I am planning to attend a state technical school in the fall, and assume that these things will be covered. I'm really handy, and I can learn, so I guess I'm looking for some moral support here. This really is the only area that concerns me.
Well, I sure don't have an answer but I can tell you I am in the same boat LOL.. I have been going through the training course on this site, and I am like 'What the heck is THAT?' on about everything. So I too hope they go over this stuff as if you have no knowledge. I figure if I practice the written part now & get that down pat, when I get to school I can then focus all my attention on the truck & learning it & learning to drive it- knowing I have the written learned (even if I don't know yet what the parts refer to- I know the answers! lol!) Good Luck to both of us!

Anyone been to Roadmaster Drivers School?
Alot of the comments on this forum are from DRIVERS...running down the road..and when they have time...they come in here and post on topics...to help those folks who want to get in to trucking, have a question, or need some advice. I am retired from trucking, so I can come in here when ever I want. But I have never gone to a trucking school per say...My trucking school was 4 days long. Then I hit the road in a long nose Pete...OJT..can't beat it. I've heard of the school...I've not heard anything bad...
Cool, Thanks Starcar :) appreciate it.. yeah, I figured I'd comment to bring it back to top of forum in case it had been missed by some :) I think that is really neat that you're retired & come in to this forum to help others. very, very cool. Thanks!

#JustForFun: Where did your avatar name come from?
Well, I don't have one yet, because I am super new to all this, but my brain has been thinking, because I like all the cool names people have too. I was thinking (and YES, I'll take comments :) ... Since my go-by nickname is Dorie, and every time I introduce myself I either get the 'oh, like the fish!' or the 'Dorian Gray' movie.. or the 'Hunky Dory', so I was kind of thinking the 'Hunky Dorie' might be a good one. :D I indeed am usually very mellow & smiley, in a 'hey, all's good' kind of space.. so.. what do ya think? BTW.. I somehow screwed up my avatar pic, trying to upload one- didn't know how to get the truck one back on there LOL. I'll be one of those that totally laughs at myself too when i start school and do the 'back it up' all in a zig zag..

Finished my training and assigned a truck
Congrats, Chris EMT! I hope to begin school the end of this month, and may likely be working for Werner as well, so I will definitely be following your progress, and I'd be interested in any tidbits about Werner too. Go Get 'Em! & Stay Safe on the road!

Anyone been to Roadmaster Drivers School?
OK, Well, should I take the LACK of comments to mean that no one knows anything about Roadmaster Driving School? Has anyone even heard any Rumors about Roadmaster LOL...?? If not, hey, that's cool - If I make it in there (hopefully by end of month) I will be letting everyone know how it goes for me anyway. Waiting to hear if my pre-hire app with Werner is accepted. ....How about Werner? Anyone have anything to say about them? Thanks :D
I live in Miami FL, and after doing quite a bit of research online and on this REALLY GREAT site, I am first and foremost considering going to Roadmaster school, but when I am searching on these forums I have not seen much if any mention of this school. Does anyone have anything to say about Roadmaster? Appreciate any and all comments :)

Phew! Passed week 2 of CDL school.
Wow! Congratulations, Scott! That is very impressive! If all goes well for me I will be beginning school at the end of the month, and I am scared sh*tless! :D I look forward to reading your adventures as you go forward. Did you go to a private school? Had you had any experience in trucks before- or did you go in cold? Congrats again! woo-hoo!
Finished all my tests on the backing range at CDL school Sat. Mar 8. I was kinda stressed about it because I had not really done too well practicing offsets and there were lots of students that were repeating week 2 multiple times. I scored 97% total on 6 backing maneuvers (brushed a cone with a mup flap on left offset and pushed it thru because I had to get bumper in before using a pull-up)) and was in the high 90's on all 3 written tests. I plan on writing about some of the great things and the not so great about my CDL school upon completion. I'll try to keep it just the facts. Going to do the same about the company I'm starting with too because the "other forum" seems to only have the whiners and complainers writing about them. New drivers like me stay tuned and I'll try to give you some straight talk about my journey.

Hi Dorian I recently was able to drive a newer truck, the school I go to have older ones and I was nervous about reaching the pedals but I drove a new truck and I was great to sit in the seat and be able to sit comfortable like you belong there so don't worry about being to short you will do fine. Stay safe and enjoy your new career. I am going to I will be off to orientation at the end of the month.
Oh, very cool, Brinda, Thanks! So, I take it the newer trucks are a bit more accommodating- that is great news. I am in a holding pattern with Roadmaster in Orlando, FL waiting to see if I get the pre-hire acceptance from Werner. (I have some stuff on my record back about 15 to 20 years I'm a bit concerned about.) I noticed on the Werner site they claim to have a great fleet of trucks about 2 and a half years old -- so maybe they will be better for me than older trucks some companies might have. Every bit of information I get is being logged into my brain, and I appreciate every bit!

Embarrassing Question.. LOL... I pee a LOT
I mix the apple cider vinegar with honey (which is also good for you)....makes it tolerable...and the porta potty is the ones you can buy at Wally World..they are small, efficient, and better than peein' in a jar...or...for Redgator...a big gulp cup...
Thank you, Starcar! I'm on it! started the apple cider vinegar yesterday, and I appreciate the Wally World tip!

Embarrassing Question.. LOL... I pee a LOT
Thank you, Jopa! I have heard that from a couple people too- the possibility of diabetes. I do get tired a lot especially after meals, so I will have to check that out for sure. I really appreciate everyone that has replied here :) Thanks to all!
