I just started driving 2 months ago. So far I'm enjoying the job a lot. One of the hardest things for me was backing up because they definitely don't teach that at 160 Driving Academy. I was told by an instructor there that "We don't teach you how to drive a truck here, we teach you how to pass the road test. Isn't that the truth! I was sent out on the road a week after graduating and landing a job. No trainer, no orientation, nothing. I now drive 2800 miles a week and have had to figure it out all on my own, with a few lumps and bruises along the way. I do love the job though and have some good rookie experiences to share. I love the forum here as it gives good insight into the industry.

Finished school
Finally took my test today and passed. Congrats. Best advice i can give as a fairly new driver myself is expect the unexpected in the real world of driving. Going to a CDL School does not teach you how to drive. They simply teach you how to pass your road test. There's a whole new world of learning ahead of you now.
