I'm a new driver with 1-month OTR experience. I was terminated the first part of July following a rear end accident where the officer gave me a warning instead of a citation. During my employment I scraped a trailer which I reported, and I bent a trailer wheel due to a tight turning lane blocked in by a concrete moat which I also reported so these coupled with the accident lead me to termination. In every instance when I called the safety manager, they would ask me "did you learn anything from this" and I would tell them what I learned and got the same reply "that's exactly right, I couldn't have said it better". I have learned from every mistake and misstep, and the other thing that I have learned is the more I do this the more I love doing this, so I need your help. The only thing that would be on my MVR would be the accident with a warning and no citation, but I have been trying to get a copy of my DAC report so I know what and how the company laid everything out so that when I apply, I can be completely truthful. Unfortunately, Hirerite as of this morning still doesn't show any information on my DAC. The school where I went to get my CDL is willing to give me further safety training, but they want to wait for a DAC. Does the application on Trucking Truth forward our applications to companies or does it vet our application then send the company information to us? If the extra safety training will make a difference I don't want to close any doors that may be open with it if I apply, if any doors are open at all. It's been over a month now and I need advice...
