CLP number will remain the same as CDL number?

Good morning. I just registered here and I am excited by this large trucking community. Thank you for the welcoming!

I have a CLP in NJ and I am thinking to apply for Hazmat Endorsement at TSA. During the process at the website they ask my CDL number. So, can I just put my Driver License number and save time with the background check or the CDL number will be different?

Another question is: In case of not being possible to have the tsa background check with CLP in NJ, could I do the Hazmat endorsement exam at DMV to save time?

I can't find information about it!
