Disqualification Question

Quick question. Will a misdemeanor possession charge disqualify me from obtaining a CDL? I was not charged with DUI, I have zero tickets in 30 years driving. It was not vehicle related. It was a stupid mistake and I can pass any drug test and screening. I know getting a job is totally different issue but will the one count of Misdemeanor possession disqualify me? Am I wasting my time even applying to get CDL?
