Any trucking jobs w/o experience in Phoenix?

I live in Tucson and there is a few place's that will train you after Graduation. You looking for Skateboard or Box work?. You need to keep yourself open for anything to get you started and upon your yr of OTR you can look for something closer to your family. Or if you want to do local FedEx and those types of places are looking for driver's as well.

Roehl Flatbed Division..

JC, let me tell you something. That verbal promise is a complete pile of B.S.

You are the potential driver. You get to choose who you work for and who you communicate to. If you're also interested in Melton then apply to Melton and see what they offer. But this verbal promise is just a bad thing.

You have to remember, trucking is a lot different than the outside world. In a normal life, you apply to a bunch of jobs and you, the employee, must convince the employer to hire you. Show them that you qualify more than their other applicants.

Trucking is different. Every company is desperate for drivers. So desperate that they are willing to pay for your hotel for a week, train you, pay for your transportation and do everything else to go out of their way to get you to work for them. All companies are in a fierce need of drivers. You, the student, can choose to work for who you want to work for. If you're interested in Roehl and Melton. Then apply to both and see which company fits you better.

This is why we tell people to apply to every company and see who will take you. You don't go 1 company at a time. If I'm going to go fishing, I'm going to go to a lake and not a pond. There's more potential "catches" in the lake than the pond. Hope that example makes sense.

So seriously man, this verbal promise that you were forced to make is just a huge /facepalm to me. Apply to whoever you want, work for whoever you want. Don't judge a company by their recruiters. But this recruiter has his head up his butt.

Thanks Again For Your Advise Sir.. Drive Safe

Roehl Flatbed Division..

Why would a recruiter ask you to make a verbal promise to not look at another company until he gets back with you? What are you waiting to hear back from him about? I feel like I'm missing something here...

I think he wanted me to wait til he run's all my stuff. I am not sure I was going to call Melton's but they are on hold..

I called the recruiter on Thursday afternoon. He needed me to make a verbal promise I won't contact any other company to obtain employment until I hear back from him. I was stoked all day...

Hey all this is CortaroAz.. Lost my computer to a death screen so started a new account.. I am in schooling with a GPA in Class of a 3.8..(Remember This).. I am working on getting my Hazmat and Tanker endor's. I am awsome in class then I get to the computer to do my test and I freeze and feel like I am taking a final exam back in my college years..LOL I am also struggling on double cluth and parallel parking.. Offset is within the passing. I got the pre trip stuff from here and I am awsome on that Thanks .. I was to graduate this coming up Thursday. But was informed not a chance til you pass your endorsements and wheel training.

So anyways any good tips for the testing both in cab and DMV?.. I was also wondering I am going to obtain my CDL in Az but wife wants to move back home. Do I tell the company or should I wait til after training?..

Drive Safe All.. JC
