Hey all! I've got a million questions and looking for some info! Any recommendations and suggestions are muchly appreciated!
My hubs and I have been seriously researching a career in OTR team driving together. We are very aware of all the pros and cons this can have. Our situation is this..... Our youngest (and only one left at home) will be graduating this May (2014) and gone off to college. My hubs has been stuck at his same job for what was only supposed to be 3 months has turned into 7 years with no room for pay growth or advancement. Myself, my job is meh..... I am a risk taker, I live for today, my hubs however is scared of the unknown.... So with that being said....
He has had his CDL for 10+ yrs but mostly city driving and local. Not much of truck and trailer or long haul. Myself, nothing at all! We have been looking into companies that have truck driver training, but there seems to be so many options. And now I'm confused! lol Can anyone suggest a company with the schooling? Do the companies with the school pay for the schooling (I understand we may have to sign a 1yr contract to drive for them after schooling is complete)? How does schooling work with husband/wife teams? Can we train together? What are the better school companies?
So that is the start of my questions....... I have a ton more but I'll save those for a few who have the time to answer! Thank you all in advance for your wisdom and thoughts! Be safe on the road and hope to cross paths with each of you some day soon!
Thanks, Amy

NEWBIE!! Many questions!!!
Thank you RedGator! There is so much to read.... My head is spinning on the amount of research and information available, yet I still seem to have questions! This forum and site have been great as so many people have taken the time to blog their stories and experiences... We are still researching, trying to figure out what the best route for us is going to be.
