Currently have a class B cdl and drove school bus for about 8 months. Will be attending class A training in a week. Optimistic about new adventures, traveling and learning new skills. Not so excited about the horror stories I've read about.

Awwwww Jopa sorry for the delay. But it's just a delay...you'll be back in no time. It seems they are constantly throwing an extra twist at us, that the recruiting just happen to forget to mention. All we can do is ROLL with the punches. Keep your head up and I'll see you back soon.

On my way to training: Optimistic with a touch of OMG...what did I just sign up for?
Hi Starcar,
Lady Bikers rule!!! Maybe once I finish with training, I will be able to find time to ride again...I am already missing it. And meeting other bikers is always nice.
I'll remember your advice and see what trucking and the company is like for myself. I am optimistic and will stay positive. So please have the Christian Motorcyle Assoc. send a prayer up for me.

I'm going to Prime also, maybe I will meet some of you :-) I start orientation on this Monday, April 21st. I'm a little nervous, but this website and forum is helping tremendously. I'm also praying for a "good" trainer, preferably a non-smoking female. So if there are any drivers/trainers that can help connect me, that would be awesome!
Best of luck,

Thanks TT: I passed my permit test
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say thanks for this website and the CDL training materials provided, I passed my Class A permit test. I only had to take the combination vehicles test today to upgrade from class B, but I used the practice test and study guide here and it helped tremendously.
Funny thing is, when the DMV worker graded my test, she used the wrong answer key and marked about 13 questions wrong initially. I stood there in disbelief...like wtf...I studied and got that many wrong...lol
So needless to say, I asked if I could see it and that is when she noticed that she used the wrong answer. Thank God for that, so at least that one is out of the way. And hopefully helps save time in orientation. I will be studying for the other endorsements next.
Thanks again, for this awesome website and great forum. I'm learning so much already!

Packing: Any suggestions on what to take?
Thank you everyone for the tips! I think I will be going to buy a duffle bag since my very "stylish" luggage may be too big. But I do want to respect the trainers space, so I will scale down. Also, the items to pack list is very helpful.
Cynthia, I wish I could bring my own coffee pot and slow cooker...I'll keep that in mind for when I finally get my own truck! That is a great idea to be able to cook every now and then, especially since I'm a foodie (I love food lol). I sure will miss home cooked meals...:-(
Thanks again!

Beginning new career with PTL. (A diary)
Hi Scott and fellow TT members,
It took me about an hour or so to read all the posts, but it was a good story, with alot of laughs, especially about the food and the greyhound adventures. I, like Joba, decided to book a flight for my orientation at Prime, Inc. to avoid the bus station drama...luckily they will reimburse me the cost of the bus ticket!!! I only pray to be able to avoid greyhound as I have for the last 20 years. I will be going from Class B to Class A and happy to have found a site with this kind of insight and resources.
I wish you continued success,
Exquizit1

I have CDL Class B and a permit to get my Class A, where do I go from here to get the experience?
Hi Cyntia,
Have you had any luck with getting answers to your questions? Have you tried the big training companies to see what the requirements are for FL cdl, etc.?
Good luck,
Exquizit1

Selling Trucking Truth
Jopa isn't lying...I agree and I've told everyone that I've met about TT and how great the training materials are.
