Zim's Bio

After 6 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, a bit of ocean sailing and kayaking, I'm living it up on land for a change. Eating locally grown foods and backpacking with a beautiful girl and our dog, life is good!

GPS Options

Howdy all. I've been reading and learning tons off this website, thank you. Into week two with my mentor at Swift Transportation.

For trip planning we've been using the road atlas, Qualcomm and his garmin trucking GPS. I've only ever used garmin products on the ocean but before I spend nearly $300 I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the Rand McNally or Cobra options?

Thanks!

Swift Pay?

Kevin. Great question! My mentor, at swift, just answered it today. Look at ComData as broken down into two purposes. One it's your company account. Just a like your debit card. Second, it's a unique identifier. When Pilot or TA read its barcode they simply know who to bill for the expense. By adding some of your personal ID a paper trail is established. Hope this helps. I too was rather perplexed.
