Getting better at shifting and downshifting... I'd like to improve my turning though. On my ride evaluation sheet it says I need to improve my turns because they're too wide. Any tips?

Rain. Wet. Straight line backing, drop and hook, pre trip. All day long now that we finished the green book. Went on my first road ride yesterday and it was pretty fun. Was a little nervous but my instructor explained and guided me through the shifting process. School is great and I know I'll have bad and good days...just have to keep chugging. My pre trip for the road test is going great, I have it down to 8 minutes. Anyways, that's all folks! Have a great day on the road!

Got my permit yesterday! Still a long ways away but I'm in a great school with great instructors! I must thank this site for helping me with the test...now onto practicing the maneuvers...

We had a presentation from a recruiter on Tues. They seem like they have a lot of perks but the CPM seems lower. Good place to get experience?

OK I'm freakining out. About a month ago, I let my sister use my car and she got a parking ticket with it and didn't tell me. I got a notice in the mail saying its late but it can still be taken care of. I'm worried this will affect getting my CDL if it goes on my record. It was a parking without consent moving violation in Buffalo NY. Its minor but I don't want to take any chances...what can I do? I'll pay it if I have to but can I get a judge to not put it on my record? I'm so paranoid...maybe I'm overreacting but this is scaring the crap out of me.

Hey all, just started training and learning about all the regulations and maneuvers drivers have to do! Its exhausting being in the classroom but I'm learning alot! We start practicing in the trucks in the weeks ahead, hope I don't screw up too badly haha.
