LCCTC

Ok so ive not only been focusing on cdl requirements as well as prepping for school. In the past few days when i can i was studying math reading and writing to be proficient enough to pass the T.A.B.E. test at the pa careerlink center in lancaster. One of the few obsticales i have to deal with before starting school. I am content though considering it is going to be paid for with the WIA grant so what more can i ask for.

To all truckers out there Be safe and double check everything csa scores are affected as well as cdl driving record.

best of luck to all truckers out there on the road OTR regional and local drivers be safe and stay off ur cell phones while driving. Recently seen on the news of a driver coming through pa while on his phone and was in a hurry to go to where he needed to be as a result of him not paying attention several lives were taken because he came up on a sudden stop situation. he ran into a car with a full family 7 lives total. You drivers have enough with on time deliveries and all dont make it harder on urselves.

God Bless the truckers of yesterday and today may we pray for the ones of tommorow

LCCTC

Well i am aware that coming out of school that several companies require atleast 6 months experience but there are several companies in the tanker side of trucking that ive been eyeing. anything from schinder to oakley. several around here PGT and all are not a well known company but still have availabilty for recently grad students. I think OTR wouldnt be a bad idea but for me its about getting that experience off the bat.

LCCTC

if you all dont mind i want to share my experience thus far. Two years ago i hit a rough spot in my life and decided that a avenue i could take was driving. I had a clean driving record so i was intending on getting into stevens transport at that time. I call the recruiter who was a female who made it seem like the grass is greener on the other side to get a 2 week out orientation date in texas. I didnt show up because i called my father afterwards and he informed me that maybe company sponsored cdl training though good in its own way wasnt for me. So in turn i started to study and study. I will be attending LCCTC in june with paid tuition private or state owned facility with 200hrs of time. Anyhow ill update this as i start. everything in between now and my start date is all high road study exams and big rig talk youtube and pa cdl manual.

Private CDL school starting 05/08/14

" heard about this site that same day I stopped into the school and have been reading and reading, became a member, started the HIGH ROAD tests, finished the driving safely part with a 99%, read Brett's book, more reading, posted here and there, stumbled on the air brake test 88%"

I too my self am prepping for school in june. Me and my father have sat down and talked about the possible avenues and what seemed logical. I appreciate all the posts and diaries that have been recorded in careers. I have studied the PA cdl drivers manual as well as taken several practice exams from there website along with high road. I am trying to get the (WIA) or workboard investment act grant to cover the cost of the tuition of school.

stay safe everyone
