Michael H.'s Bio

I am in my late 50's, been married for almost 37 years to the most patient and understanding woman on the planet. I have 3 grown kids, and 7 grand kids.

I have done almost any kind of job that you think of, from dishwasher to pizza delivery, to package delivery, From apartment maintenance to Maytag repairman. Business owner to School bus driver.

I have been searching for a career, something that I love to do, something that makes me not dread getting out of bed in the morning. The more I read on this site, the more I think that maybe I may have finally found it.

Question about information updates.

How often is the information on the company sponsored training pages updated? I have seen on one of Kearsey's videos that the training pay for Prime may have changed. So I was wondering how up to date is the information on this site? I look forward to any replies.

Thanks for such a great resource! Mike

Ok, there's a Museum for everything

You can visit the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum in Greenville, TX or the Southwest Dairy Museum in Sulphur Springs, TX both off of I-30 about 20 miles apart.smile.gif

Topics About Trucking To Write About

If you are looking to inform the uninformed, you might write about how government regulations, that are meant to make us all safer are actually making things worse. For instance the tight rope that drivers have to walk to be in compliance and still make a living.wtf.gif

Application Approved For Maverick School

Go to youtube and search for Dale Clay. He did videos all the way through training in Arkansas and is still doing them. He does flatbed for Maverick, and gives a very good glimpse into the day to day life.

I start training Monday!!!! I have a few questions!!!!

double-quotes-start.png

When we are Doing our DOT physical, how extensive is the search for a hernia? Is it the old "turn and cough" method or just an abdominal push??? Sorry I am nervous about it and just wondered!

double-quotes-end.png

I usually like to sing gospel music aloud during the physical to help me relax and calm my nerves.

He Touched Me

...He touched me, Oh He touched me,

And oh the joy that floods my soul!

Something happened and now I know,

He touched me and made me whole....

Hmm...Now that I think about it maybe that wasn't the best choice of song considering the test that was being administered

I found another thread with this information.

Could you provide a link to that thread?

Any word of advice appreciated.

I am not a driver yet, and I am certain there will be replies from others that can offer better advise than I can. However in my opinion, you should apply to as many companies as possible. Tell them about what happened with Pam and see if any are willing to give you a shot.

Quick Question.... DEF Fuel

Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Made up of one third synthetic urea and two thirds deionized water, a fine mist of this solution is injected into the hot diesel exhaust to breakdown NOx into harmless water vapor. Stand next to a newer truck as it is running and you'll notice the lack of the pungent, eye irritating diesel exhaust odor.

Thanks G! thank-you.gif

Next stupid question. Is there a gauge inside the cab for that or do you just automatically refill that every time you get fuel?
