I am a civilian employee of the US Army for 13 years after serving on active duty in the Army for almost 22 years. My desire is to drive a truck for a while after I retire from federal service a second time. I have my Class A CDL and keep my medical certificate up to date so when it's time the jump won't be quite so far.

Hello All! I am part of the civilian employee pool that the President is trying to force the vaccine mandate on. A guv'ment mule. I doubt I will take the shot but I've not had to make that decision yet, so I'm in the position to have to look around and test some waters. I passed my CDL test and received my Class A CDL in June of this year. However, I have no driving experience. My only driving has been in my CDL school and on the test. If any of you were in or are in a similar situation what trucking company or companies would you choose to go to work for? I know I'll have to go to a company that trains new drivers so I'd want one with a good record in training. I tend to stay with a company for awhile when I hire own. Retired after 22 years with Army and I've been "a mule" for 10 years now. If the mandate happens I will have the option to drop retirement paperwork and move on or take the jab because my paycheck is a good one. Again, that bridge has not shown up on the road I'm on.

MED card help!
A possible course of action would be to go back to the medical office that gave you the two-year DOT Med Card. Have then do another DOT physical. If it is good, then self-certify again on your state's website.
