Pay in lieu of benefits

Where I work (Millis Transfer) you get .01cpm for not using their health insurance. I am on my wife's health insurance through her work.

Central Refrigerated- Am I getting told wrong?

The Roehl drivers with pets are lease operators. They can have them , but company drivers cant .

Ah, Gotcha! Thanks PJ! That is something I forgot to consider!

I read about your training at Roehl but how did it go after you finished training? After the first few months? I love Roehl just because I am biased....My wife and her family are from that area and seem to be lots of local jobs there...

Central Refrigerated- Am I getting told wrong?

Pets are no longer allowed for new hires with central. The ones that have pets were grandfathered in under the old central policy from before the merger

That makes sense I guess. That is probably the same thing with Roehl.... They had been trucking for 10+ years... Man, That stinks!

Thank You!

Central Refrigerated- Am I getting told wrong?

I am set to begin with Central Refrigerated in a couple weeks and the recruiter keeps telling me no pets are allowed however, I have seen and been told by some of their drivers that pets are allowed and have seen them with pets. Same goes for Roehl Transportation? Roehl told me no pets but I saw drivers with pets? How do they know if their drivers have pets? and can they get away with it?

Stable Employment History

I wanted to work for prime and go through their school but unfortunately they rejected me due to my employment/unemployment history. I have worked mostly through temp agencies and fire departments since leaving the army as well as moved around a lot since then. When they checked the system to check my job history along with my application it showed 10-12 additional jobs however those additional jobs were through one temp agency...I listed the temp agency and not the jobs individually because I was never hired on. Unfortunately, instead of the temp agency showing in the system it was all of the jobs I worked as a temp through that showed up.

Pets and Trucking?

So I have a dog who is pretty close to a service dog....he went through but is not fixed yet....I have PTSD so he is kind of therapeutic for me...anyways my question is what trucking companies allow pets? The only one I know of is knight. Roehl and central refrigerated both told me that they do not allow pets....I can't think of any others though! Can anyone help me out?

$230 a week? Is that possible?

That's not so bad. During my research, I came across people who complained that they only made $50 a week. Lol.

Either they suck at their job or are exaggerating haha. You can make more than that delivering pizzas!

Team driving for celadon again, anybody know anywhere better for rooks?

.18 or .15 a mile I know aint great even if I get paid for miles driven by team mate. Anybody know a better way, I'll do the team thing, if i have to I gotta bust in somehow and start making a living for the family. And I know I gotta pay my dues.... just trying to sort it out. Thought of trying to get out from it after six months or so at 120000 truck miles but that's at .15 a mile team. But i reckon after having some drive time under my belt I ought to do better with another company. Please any advise is greatly appreciated.

I assume you already have your CDL, however, I do not. I know CRST starts contract new student drivers at .22. It is higher for experienced drivers( I think .28 or something like that). If you want to do the team thing I hear they are the way to go!
