Maverick trucking auto transmission

I started with maverick in September. All trucks (that I know of) are automatics. There is a feature that allows you to change gears but obviously without a clutch

First time cross country

Just looked....seems like easiest/most direct route would be i15 north to i70 east. Run 70 east to Denver. Then take i76 to where it joins i80 by Julesburg, CO. Continue east on i80 all the way to Cleveland where it splits with i90. Run 90east to just west I Albany, NY. Then i91 north then to more local directions. Keep in mind that along a lot of i90 (Indiana/Ohio/penn/NY) it requires a toll.

Sure others might take a different route, but it looks to be most direct.

Your fuel or company paid? Are you paid same for hub miles or practical? U get a bonus for making it under paid mileage?

I'm in!!! Orientation with Melton Truck Lines in Tulsa, OK

If I recall, about a dozen were sent home for various reasons. Think 12 actually graduated. Think the others probably found something more local to them but not sure. First week think 8 were gone. Some left in thier own, tho before training was even finished

Swift academy

Most likely as it is generally cheapest mode of transport, although when I went for training with Maverick, I found Amtrak was cheaper and less time than greyhound. I bought train ticket and Maverick reimbursed me. Where are you leaving from?

First time cross country

Hi, I have to drive from Las Vegas NV to Littleton NH in a 26' Penske rental. can you advise me on the best route to take? Northern or southern?

I've never done that trip, but I'd try to get in i80 and run that to i90 east of Cleveland, oh. Get road atlas and turn to the page in the front with the interstate system map of US. Take ruler from LV to wherever you are going in NH. Follow as close to that straight line as you can

Quick question about C. R. England

My friends brother went with England's CDL program. He described it as being a slave to them until the cost of their CDL program was paid off. Think he said 2-4 years. He could have been jerking my chain. But definitely talk with drivers from that company whenever you get a chance

Flatbed for prime

If you are still interested in flat bed, you can look for a more specialized company whose primary focus is flat bed, such as Maverick, TMC, PGT, McElroy and others
