Need help for family trucker.

Hi everyone. My brother in law is a trucker who recently lost his job after an accident. Someone decided they wanted to try and dart past him as he was changing lanes and they went right into his blind spot, causing the accident b/c he could not see them.

The company he was with let him go b/c the state police put him at fault without doing any real investigating into what happened.

This was about three weeks ago. He's since gained employment with another company, but he just got notification that he is to appear in court in August. We all live in TN. The court is in Minnesota. They don't know why they're to appear in court, no one will tell them, all they know is that it's in criminal court.

Any advice for the poor guy?
