The Ups, and Downs, of a Rookie Drivers Pay

Good question. It all comes down to the per diem.

No typos. When I'm on actual computer I'll do screen shots so you can see it.

You are making good money thus far keep it up how much home time do you get?

Owning a Truck/Driving for a Company

So I was talking to some truckers and the guy says he owns a rig aka truck that he has a guy drive for him but he also drives for a company and he says he makes good money doing both. I didn't go into detail of how is this possible but have any of you done this before or know if this is possible or plausible?

Dedicated or Regional Routes

I've run both as well as otr. The dedicated to me was hands down better. You are working for 1 shipper and their freight is predictable. You go alot of the same places and learn the ropes. To me that was the best part. Makes good time management. I'm running regional now and its just like otr. Just depends whats available in your area. It's a crap shoot. It pays better to otr but doesn 't have the predictability of a dedicated.

Yea the money for me is important but I want more predictability. I would love to drive from Pennsylvania to Florida and back be off every weekend a pipe dream I know

You should've brought 10 grand he would've took it no way the salesman lets 10 grand walk out the door. Great car btw I have dreams of using my home time by driving a CLS Mercedes Benz 550 and I know truck driving can afford me this lifestyle
