My Prime Inc Training Journal

I just started tnt phase. Trifected Saturday and got a load Monday night. My class had over a hundred and I think there's about under 20 still here. Do everything right or you're riding the dirty dog home. That alone was most of my motivation to do my best haha. Anyways, instructors are hard to come by, If you get one after the first week Great, if not your paying for your own food till you find one. Seriously be picky, it's tough because there's not enough but your experience during psd phase is directly related to how good your instructor is and how tall get along. I was there for just over 2 weeks and ended up with a great instructor. There are some bad ones believe me, a friend of mine ended up stranded after his instructor wrecked the truck after a night of gambling. Be Picky. Good luck, hope to see you make it.

Pre-Trip Inspection - My Way! A must see!

Warning though, if you get an instructor with a Pete or KW, a few things will be different. Fifth wheel has no visible locking pins, water pump and alternator are basically opposite the cascadia, and the coolant reservoir is in a different place. Know the truck and trailer you will be testing on. Unrelated but remember turning radius is not nearly as tight on the Pete's and KWs as the cascadia, got me the first time I backed it up

Too Much Baggage to Take To Prime Training?

Sorry this is a bit off topic, but Cody P - is that a black pylon in the back of your truck? If so....what is that used for? At first I thought visibility in the snow (being from Buffalo) but it shows you're from Florida so I don't know...

Haha Brett it's just a fad really, I'm surprised you haven't seen it up there, you basically just find a cone, most people steal them but I has this one in my backyard when I moved there, and you either just put it in your truck or paint it to match then place in truck. I just did it to spark interest and I started liking it back there. There's an Instagram page on it, and there's pickup trucks to golf carts to semi trucks doing it. It's just a thing haha

Did you get lucky enough to get a room at the Ramada next door? A few do every week and they have a pool and a small gym and free breakfast. After your first week at the campus you have to buy breakfast yourself, or with the 200 dollar advance

You'll be fine, that's nothing compared to what I've seen people come here to the Ol Campus Inn with. Some trainers say not to bring anything but a sleeping bag but they are just kidding. Daniel you need a student?? Get to the Campus lol 58 students waiting to go out, not counting those showing up this weekend

Diving in with PRIME

It seems crazy, the front desk at the hotel said there are over 100 people here for the 18th orientation. Prime really rakes in as many people as the can, and they have an orientation every week

Thank you

Going to be taking my permit test next week at Prime orientation. Started cramming Monday of this week, and already have a firm grasp of the knowledge needed to pass the test. A full week of studying and reading Brett's book and diving into the forums and I've never been more ready to start a career. Thanks to anyone that makes this site as great as it is.

I got into prime!!!!

Holy cow my bus ride Saturday is going to be 29 hours so I looked at airline tickets and it woulda been over 500 dollars. I'd drive if I could but it's a thousand miles and my lifted truck gets 10 of those per gallon

I applied on the 29th of July and got everything set to go on the 5th of August. They must have offered me your spot on Monday the 11th, she said "I had a spot open up on Monday the 11th if you would like to leave soon". I turned it down cause that would only give me a few days to prepare so now I'm waiting for next Saturday and I'll be headed to Springfield from Gainesville, Florida. Can't wait to go and start my future but at the same time its tough leaving home. 21 with no wife or kids so I guess I'm a good candidate lol.
