Hey TT, It's been a minute since I've even logged onto here, but Swift's been keeping me busy with their CDL training. Anywho. I was wondering if there were any trucking companies out there that would pay off my Swift training loan if I were to sign on with their company. And if so, which ones? I'm currently unsure if it would be a good idea to work with Swift after I obtain my CDL license.

Hey guys, just a quick update. My recruiter emailed me back saying that I'll be fine. I'm guessing that it's just as Eckoh's recruiter said, "It's an out of date thing."

I was told just this Tuesday 2 letters of reference family or friends.

Now I am freaked out, cause i was told that I did not need them. I guess i will call my recruiter first thing in the morning.

I would recommend calling the Academy, but as I stated in the initial post, the guy who answered the phone was no help. But, I don't see why another recruiter can't answer that simple question. It's the equivalent of getting a second opinion right? But, as the news letter that TT sent out today said, "Recruiters are salesmen".

So I've run into a slight snag with Swift Academy. On the Student Closing Form it states that if I have been unemployed for more than 60 days, then I need to provide two notarized letters stating reasons why.

My issue is that I've never been employed before, I've been attending online college full-time, and haven't been able to work. I've been trying to get in contact with my recruiter for the past few days to ask this question, but I haven't been able to reach her. I've even called the recruiting number to speak with someone else regarding this one question, and they said to talk to my recruiter. I then called the Academy, and the guy who answered didn't know anything. What should I do? If I do, in fact, need the letters, who do I obtain them from? Family, friends, etc.?

Thank You so much ladies for that input. You both are awesome. Though I don't post or comment much here on TT, I have been lurking, and you are my top two ladies. I genuinely do look up to you two. (Seems kind of weird though, since I don't know you at all. lol) In my private life I am like one of the guys anyway, not only by physical appearance either, so I'm sure I won't be doing any flirting. I tend to keep to myself, and I'm very studious, so I'm sure I have this in the bag. The only thing that will be hard adjusting to is having to get up so early and work long hours, but it's worth it in the long run I'm sure. And I'm only 22, so I definitely have a lot to learn, and things won't be so difficult because I am so young.

Any other tips, tricks or advice you may have, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Hey TT, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm headed to Swift's Driving Academy in Richmond VA on the 28th of this month (Sept), and I was wondering if you all could give me a bit of advice. It would also be helpful to connect with someone who has gone through the Richmond Academy as well.

Things like: What to expect the each week. What happens after graduation. How to cope as a female driver/trainee. How long will I be training during the day. (i.e. Hours) etc.

This site is great, and I'm sure you all will have some great advice.

You never said your weight? But im 5'1 and weigh 230lbs. Ive had 2 physicals and retained a 2 yr med card each time. Trust me ive seen some of these folks out here and being fluffy isnt an issue. They will check you for risk factors of sleep apnea which includes weigh, neck size, bmi and a 4th factor im unsure of but as long as you can drop it like its hot (lol), touch your toes and reach the sky your good. I had to ask the doc if we were doing a physical or a porn audition lol

Hey just an update. I passed my DOT physical with flying colors. They're only concerned abt my blood pressure which runs in the family. You should do great. Im 400+ lbs im not proud of it but i still did great.
