After 17 years of teaching elementary school, I am finally on the road to the career of my dreams. I completed truck driving school and earned two endorsements: doubles/triples and tankers. Currently, I am getting my TSA clearance to drive hazmat and preparing to train with a local/national trucking company for my 1st regional driving position. I am a bit nervous, yet very excited about getting on the road!

Good companies with paid training

Make sure that you check out the percentage for the repayment of the loan and the length of the contract. Some companies have SAMS where they will string you along and get you to quit early. Please take the time to do your homework. ..chat with truckers online and at truck stops...THEN make a decision with which you can live. After my research, I chose to borrow the $1600 for cdl tech school so that I would not be obligated to anyone for $5000+ for training AND I get the chance to work for extremely reputable companies without the obligation. Starting School

HI Deb...I'm into my 2nd week of school here in Ga. I am taking my written test tomorrow...8/28/14. It is exciting and exhilarating. ..with a little bit of nervousness...as I take a calculated leap into a new career that I've been wanting for over 17 years. Good luck and happy trucking...
