Casual/part-time CDL driving jobs- Realistic or not?
I'm curious if it is possible to connect with a company that hires casual or part-time drivers? In order to pay the bills, I must have a regular job during the week, but I continually yearn for the road. I have three daughters who need their daddy, and right now I can't be on the road for days, weeks, or months on end. However, I enjoy and love driving.
I'm experienced, smart, very professional and a very safe driver. In my past driving experience, I was considered one of the safest and most responsible drivers in a fleet in California where I was driving night agriculture hauls while my girls slept. I'm looking for something where I could consistently team with someone over a weekend or drive agriculture, paving, etc. jobs that are needed on the weekends, holidays, nights, etc. that would allow me to keep my family together.
I know I'm asking for everything and I absolutely love driving but I can't be without my family. I'm located in the South Denver, CO area.
Any thoughts from my brothers on the road?
