Okay so, after a long 6 months of CDL School, State Tests, Mentorship Training, low (if any) pay, anxiety, stress, etc. (many of you have been there)...I am cleared for solo and will most likely get my own company truck in the next several days and will be off and running. The "pucker factor" is pretty serious right now :-)
I have read many blogs and helpful stories here on TruckingTruth about others experiences and find them extremely helpful! THANK YOU ALL!
My question to everyone is, What TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/ITEMS do you absolutely recommend to start out?? I know I need *a good hammer for tire checks/frozen brake drums, etc. *good vice-grips for the sliding tandem release. *good flashlight. *Motor Carrier Road Atlas. *Next Exit book. *Enforcer-type trailer padlock. *cutter/shears to cut & remove trailer seals.
What am I missing? What are items that you wouldn't leave home, in the truck, without?
