Team Driving with a New Driver. Help

I hope someone can help me with this question. I am starting truck school within the next few months. I am a female and wanted to drive team with my boyfriend who wants this as much as I do. Problem is the small company (10-12 trucks) is saying the Insurance would be way too much to have me on the truck driving with him. Does anyone have any suggestions? He has been driving for over 20 years and says there probably isn't anything we can do except have me go on with a large company for 1-2 years to get experience. I am uptight with this idea considering I am an Administrator at a Surgery Center and am changing careers with out knowing if there is another possible route to look into. Please, Please help with this dilemma.

Yin & Yang...This is me

Jaime P..... I am right along with you. I'm an Administrator at a Surgery Center and will be starting school in February of 2015. I am having anxiety thinking about the what if's. But reading these comments and speaking to my boyfriend about driving gives me good insight. Knowing that we are leaving good pay and stability is what we are used to, like many. But, we are only here on earth once, we independant woman need change at some point in life. Good luck with all your endeavors!!! To all you woman truckers.........Your awesome!!!!!

Contract or not when signing with a company

When those of you who are experienced Lady Truckers finished CDL school, did you sign up with a major OTR company and sign up with a contract? I have spoke to a few trucking schools and they all say a little something different. Contract means they own you???? I was going to team with my boyfriend after school, but the insurance would be too outrageous so now I am going alone to get the experience before team driving with him. Not looking forward to going alone.

Any mother truckers out there?

I have 3 children 15, 7, 6. As far as the gap for baby I would think a note from the doctor/pediatrican would safice. As far as leaving your children to work. When I first came out here I got alot of flack from ppl who wanted to judge me. Personally I feel like this. I provide WELL for my family. My ex husband takes excellent care of our babies. I misd them and they miss me but I feel good when I can provide my babies with all they want and need. Its not easy but It works for me and my family. Should you need anything feel free to pm me. Its hard for me to get on alot between training students and driving but email and phone calls work:-)

As long as your providing for your children, no one should judge you. You work for a living no matter what your job is. At least your not on State aid when you are able to provide.
