Company Driver: Dedicated Account & not being Dispatched
Jennifer
Part of the problem is we don’t understand you.
You describe a company who hired you and then sent you to another company to work for a customer of theirs.
You call is all “super truckers”. Truth is that everyone who responded to you are gainfully employed by reputable companies.
I run on a dedicated account and am kept quite busy. Out dispatch team and managers really don’t have time to hold grudges
I wish you luck moving forward with your career.

Is Prediabetes considered diabetes for a DOT physical?
Hey Evan
Pre-diabetes is not a disqualifying item for your physical. I’m a type 2 diabetic and just need to show the DOT physician that it’s under control with diet and meds.
Of others have said you can adjust your diet to improve the blood sugar levels.
Be careful on the sleep apnea. Initially they ask for a 30 day report for new users. However, my doctor (Workfit…formerly Concentra) asks for. 90 day report on CPAP for existing users.
Good luck

I went through the Roehl program back in 2014. We had a woman ( a TT member) Jolie in our class. Roehl tried to dismiss her from our class because they felt she wasn’t progressing enough to pass the test. She fought them and they let her stay to completion. Not only did she pass her exam, but she scored better than a couple drivers, myself included. They’ll do that to protect their numbers. This was in Marshfield.
Glad to hear you kept with it and got your license. I’d let go of the grudge though. You weren’t the first and likely won’t be the last to have that happen.
Good luck driver!

Jeremy, Don’t worry too much about your CSA score or DAC That’s not saying not to be careful, just don’t live under the impression that it is the end all of reports. Stevens may or may not report it as a preventable. You can’t control that now. What you you can control is from here on out.
I pretty much destroyed the front corner of a Trailer in my first 6 months of working for my initial company (Roehl). Never heard a word after I reported it. I have been hired a few time since with various carriers ( employed by Ruan for 5 years now).
Good luck and turn the page. Focus on the now and not in the past.

How would you approach this back?
First. There’s be no pickup parked there and if there were I’d ask them to move.
Then I think I’d straight back all the. Way in (staying close to the corner of the building….but not to close) and try to create a better angle to get around the building.
That eliminates the two rocks and if done correctly should get you closer to the doors.
The only other option is one of those “bendable” trailers…lol.
I had a back at a Target in Stamford CT. Early 6 am delivery so traffic wasn’t an issue.
I backed in off the street. Stopped. Got out and surveyed the dock area, the area around my tractor. We do double drop and hooks so I came up with a plan on where to drop everything while I switched trailers.
Then I proceeded to back in. It’s an underground parking/access road to the mall so there are curbs and pillars. I GOALED 4 times to make sure I was online with what I picture.
All this to say. 1. Develop a plan. 2. Execute said plan 3. Don’t do it fast, do it safely.
P.S. the landlord is a idiot to put those rocks there.

I used to run loads to Walmart west of Jacksonville.
I always found it easier to stay around the FL/Ga line then head down the next morning.
There are a few options to pick from on I95, if that’s your route into Fl.
There’s a few truck stops around the bypass by they were usually pretty small with limited parking .
I was usually in early 5 or 6 am so my view in the traffic is limited .
If you have a bypass for scales and such it will come in useful for the agriculture stations as well. I remember having to stop a couple times, but usually got a bypass.

Sounds a lot like what I did.
I decided to reach for the dock post while my jetski was still move. Felt a pop on the inside of my elbow…on the forearm side.
Extremely painful, but slowly feeling better. I used the Google to see what exactly I did. They say that rest and recovery will help heel it.
Hopefully you’ll get back to work soon

Taking right turns into parking lots and driving test
When I attended Roehl Transports school all we did for two to three days was make right turns.
Here is how I was trained in the yard.
Bring the tractor straight out into the intersection until half of the trailer clears the corner, then turn into the lot. As with any turn, keep an eye in the trailer in your mirrors.
It seems pretty basic I know but it’s always work for me.
Good luck. I’m sure you’ll be fine.
