Chasing a Dream turned into a Nightmare
I just finished CDL School with Quality Drivers, funded by Celadon. It's a new school, and there are a lot of people with gripes, but all in all, it's a great school. The trainers are all super friendly, very helpful, and they give you every chance to succeed. Call and talk to a recruiter, and see what they say. By the say, the school is "free", and the only reason I use air quotes, is if you don't want to pay for it out of pocket, you can opt to be contracted with celadon for a year at .18c per mile (240,000 miles split between a team), or .14c per mile for 6 months (120,000 miles). You can buy out your contract for $7,200
Thanks for the tip!

Credit/debit cards for truckers
Hi everyone, I was wondering if truckers have difficulties using their personal cards? I once had my card blocked because I drove to a different city and bank suspected it was stolen. Also - since driver is usually on the road, replacing lost or blocked card can be somewhat troublesome. How do you guys manage this?

Help me pick a backpack
Greetings everyone!
I have 6 month long plan to join the wonderful world of trucker's bombs and haute cuisine of truck stops. It may amuse you, but I need your help to pick a backpack. I believe I will need to have a duffel bag and a backpack. Any duffel bag will suffice I guess, but backpack is a different story. I'd rather buy expensive sturdy model and never worry about it again than buy cheap and then buy another one. It's something I will carry more often, it will accommodate stuff I need more often and which I value most. What would you suggest? Certain brand or/and model? Some things I should avoid at all costs when picking one or some things that are a must for a backpack?
Also do you think I will be able to leave a duffel bag in a cabin(or in storage?) for short-term trips home?
