President signs restart rollback bill: Here’s what the law requires of FMCSA
If it is a "law" this ****head can't "repeal" it.If you'd take your "hate lenses" off long enough to see the light you'd realize repealing the law actually helps truckers. But I probably digress from Obama bashing because that's so much more important than the impact this will have on drivers. Geez.....
Anyhow, glad they're repealing those restrictions for now anyhow. Now if we could get them to do away with the 14 hour rule, that would be awesome!
I thought you were my favorite person here, so far, this just proved i was right \

DOT Drug Testing: Urinalysis or Hair Follicle?
Swift does the pee test only but my advice is give it up completely cuz even if you pass the first one you can count on a lot more to follow and not just from swift but DOT will pull you in to a weigh station and do a random so make sure you quit for good... I'm not trying to sound mean but trucking is not like other jobs and will end your career in the trucking Ind... If you test dirty
Thank you SOOOOO much for this. I have already quit and am trying new things to take it's place. Either way there's no going back now! YEY! Again thanks!!!

I would like to get a CDL. I dont have experience but i am study too hard. I am a kindergarten teacher and i have been working for 20 years. Now, I want to be a driver. I would like to know how is the real world. I know to world trough books and how to form the future men. I hope to get entering the new year 2015.
This site has all the info you need. I started my research on their "Free Truck Driving Schools and Company-Sponsored CDL Training" page because that way i don't need to pay, at least up front. I also keep an eye on the forums because that's where you'll read "CDL Training Diaries" and get answers to your questions from experienced truckers. I haven't started it yet but the "The High Road Training Program" but i hear it's great and plan to start it tomorrow when my son's at school. I still need a little more info before i make up my mind but everything I've read here has been awesome. The good is good and the bad doesn't seem that bad. So i know i'm leaning heavily towards it.
Anyway you go you gotta get out of teaching. That paragraph is a disaster!

DOT Drug Testing: Urinalysis or Hair Follicle?
I know this thread is old but I just wanted ask if anyone knows anything about swifts drug testing? I am just going to be honest and put it out there. Up until recently I was using marijuana as an aid with my my other meds to help with my bipolar and depression. I was under the care of my psychatrist and psychologist while I was using it. I know it's not legal in Pa. but my Dr. and psych were ok with it because they think it has a tremendous medicinal upside. So with that being said I have not used it in 2 mos.
I lost my job in March, IT WAS NOT drug related. I always wanted to drive trucks but things kept me away from the industry(relationship) now the only thing holding me back is my son. I have put out hundreds of resumes and I am not even getting phone calls. The only phone call I got back was from crst when I decided to give trucking a try, since then I found this wonderful forum and site. I learned a couple of things about crst that did not appeal to me. So this led me to my decision of being able to provide for my son. Had I known that this was the path I was going to take I never would have smoked it in the first place.
So I guess what I am asking is what companies do u/a only? I have seen the list that Brett priovided but since then I have seen different names on this forum. Please do not judge me by my past, but help me look to my future for me and my son.
Thank You Kevin
I am also in this boat. I am looking at being a trucker and i have bipolar. Being uninsured and unemployed i use marijuana to keep myself calm(biggest understatement in the world). I am willing to quite and not use again if i can get work and insurance but as it stands now that's not going to happen. I am not unemployed because of drug use or anything negative. I tried to open my own business and it did not work out. Any info would be great!

What type of drug testing is done at major trucking companies?
I'd just like to add that in 23 states medical marijuana is legal. It got to that point because people were using it as a medication long before it lost it's illegal status. In each and every one of the 50 nifty United States people use marijuana as a medication for real diseases and disorders. I'm sure you've seen the TV commercials of girls glued to the couch but that's not how it really is. It's more along the lines of a person with bipolar or depression not going off on their loved ones. Or it might just be the way a person relaxes at the end of the day instead of drinking alcohol. There have been 0 deaths attributed to marijuana in all of human history. Alcohol claims 88,000 lives a year and wont come up on a drug test. Are you concerned every time you or one of your buddies pop open a beer? Because that's more likely to harm you then marijuana which is the, illegal drug, drug tests mainly test for.
