Humbled by shifting.... :)

I actually had the same exact problem a few months ago while learning, I quickly figured out that the clutch pedal was doing NOTHING to help me shift and actually hindering the process because I was pushing it all the way down. If your instructor will let you, learn to float the gears first, that helped me a ton. I can actually float the gears in my subaru now.

Having a bad day, 2 strikes.

I think the biggest help was the examiner I got this time, he was extremely friendly. I think spending the whole morning practicing front line stops and right turns helpedba bit as well. I still can't figure out how I managed to score perfect on the angled back all three times, I had a heck of a time learning to back that 28 foot trailer at an angle.

I will probably be about there tomorrow, hopefully I don't have a nervous breakdown or something.

Well today I went for my second attempt at the skills test here in Illinois and failed again, too many points. I got 6 points on the front line stop and 8 on the right turn, got 0 on the 45 back both times. On the first attempt I got 6 on the front line and 0 on the 45, but just rubbed the cone on the right turn. Well tomorrow I go for my final attempt and failure is not an option, I will be out of a job and 30 days from being able to try with any other company. Just looking for ANY advice or help of any other variety.

Well its definitely FedEx, its FedEx frieght. The driver instructor and operations manager both have FedEx.com emails. I don't think they offer the program unless they have an opening for a driver at one of the local hubs so it may not be something that gets used a lot. I am located about 100 miles west of Chicago.
