James W.'s Bio

I have been in the industry for 24 years as a driver, owner, fleet owner, school operator and currently run a company called Trucking to Success. I also run a fleet of trucks with Pam Transport and try to educate drivers on the opportunities with my company as well as others. My company offers advanced training to new drivers, owners, investors and veterans alike.

Prime , Usa, or pam? Money / training / ethics.

I know most of you will say trucking ethics is an oxymoron i am asking lesser evil. Been waiting 3 yrs to set up for the road and will be ready march. Been reading forums for all three years and opinions on companies seem to change every year. I want to know about 2014. Need company training not in big hurry i want to make a well informed choice. I hate automatic cars so pam is not at the top. Not a heartless ******* who only cares about money but if i wanted average pay i would work an average job. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. P.S thank you for the site brett .

Not sure who told you Pam uses autos. Pam tried that route just like a lot of other companies but reverted back to 10 speeds. As far as pay goes, what do you think you are entitled to right out of school?

Pam is one of only two companies I know that offers you a true opportunity after a short waiting period to lease a truck , put on a dedicated run and make 75,000 to 80,000 a year. I know because I am doing it. My advice to you is do not believe all the super truckers out there who like to talk about things they really know nothing about. Call and ask questions, talk to several drivers and look at the big picture. It's not always about cents per mile. Most people are short sighted and only see the cents per mile. Good Luck to you....

Pam vs cr england schooling, or is there a better paid school

I am a contractor with Pam. I have been there 6 months and been driving 24 yrs. Pam compared to some of the other starter companies is the lesser of all evils. Pam is the only company I know in the industry that offers the opportunities that they do to company and contractor alike. Any company you look up on the net will have guys complaining and it is a shame that the drivers that are happy don't take the time to talk about what they like. Most complaints on most companies come from new drivers who basically went in to shock once they actually got out there on their own. Trucking is a hard job but even harder when you do not know where the opportunities are.

Pam is one of only two companies I have ever seen that have a lease program actually designed to benefit a driver. They require company driver and contractor alike to go through a waiting period before it is even an option. They seem to have realized something most others have not, if you give the driver a stake in the company, that driver will not only stay but do a great job.

I wish Pam was offering this 24 yrs ago, if they were I would be sitting on a beach typing this and not running trucks.

My advice to anyone is to visit www.ripoffreport.com and type a company name in there, like for example Celadon and any reports that have been filed will pop up.

Like with any information on the web you need to weigh out the good and bad, however if a company has a majority of bad reports , well where there is smoke there is fire.

Good Luck!
