Company school or private? East Texas

I've got the same question. Am considering Truck Driving Institute in Tupelo, MS. I've googled all the truck driving schools in my state, and have found nine. I've only heard an opinion regarding one of them. Also, would like to know if private truck driving schools are something to be wary of.

Finally made it

When I tried to go to Prime's website, it sent me to PAM's website. Broken link? or is Prime the parent company?

Prime? I don't think I've heard of them. Do you have a link to their site?

I tried KLLM first. They sent to Hire Right for my background info, and said my application was declined. I got a copy of my report from HIre Right and then called them when I couldn't find anything wrong. They said they couldn't find a CDL with my ssn associated with it. That didn't make any sense, because the whole point of my applying with KLLM was to go to CDL school. I emailed the recruiter back and got no reply. I applied through a recruiter for USA. They didn't accept or decline. They just said they'd keep my application on hand for 90 days. I went through the same recruiter to apply with PAM. They were all ready to get me into CDL school, and then told me the insurance regulations changed on Nov 1st and have to re assess. I called back a couple of times and the recruiter told me she was still waiting to hear back from PAM. I waited and waited for about 3 weeks or so then my Dad saw an ad for Stevens in the paper. That no. got me Truck Driving Institute in Tupelo. MS. They've accepted me, and just needed a co signer for the tuition. I asked my Dad (a former trucker) to co sign and he's really leary of the company for charging so much, because he went through the state employment agency and went through school for free. He wants me to go the same route. I want to check that out, but I don't want to burn any bridges with Truck Driving institute in the mean time. I was supposed to start this coming Monday, and I cant' contact the WIN job center today(state employment service) because they're off today for some reason. Thanks a lot for any input! I haven't had much of anyone else to ask who knows much.

It's $5800 for 3 weeks at Truck Drivers institute. The local community college charges $1700 for 8 weeks. East Mississippi Community College. I've got to get a co signer for the tuition and co signer is wondering why it's so high.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if the Truck Driving Institute is a good CDL school and why do they charge so much for 3 weeks training? Thanks.
