What is the Expedited Trucking Industry? Expedited Freight? Is this website for Owner/Operators only? I don't see any mention of students or training.Thanks.

Are the company reviews on this site up to date? For example, I got a Werner paper application from my school that says their training pay is $450 a week, but on here it says that Werner training pay is $350 a week. Well, which one is it?

Parallel Parking a Tractor-Trailer/Basic Skills Test
How important is the skill of correctly parallel parking a tractor-trailer? What does it prove? It's the only maneuver on my basic skills that I cant seem to get right. Actually, when I am practicing by myself, I have done it correctly a few times. But every time I get tested on it, it's the only one I consistently fail. Straight backing? No problem. Offset? Not a problem.[I have not been tested on the alley dock maneuver, though I have practiced it]. Is this parallel parking only a one time school thing, or is it something that truck drivers in the real world have to do all the time? Well, I just need more practice, that's all. Thanks for any tips you can give me on this most difficult of all backing maneuvers.

Would someone please explain to me what is meant by "hiring area"? Why do they care where they hire from? What difference does it make to them? Are there certain areas of the country where they make no money? One more question, if I go to CDL school in one state and get my CDL,but then I relocate to the employer's state,do I have to go through this all over again, because they MUST have everything in their STATES name? I mean, why wouldn't my brand new DOT medical card from Florida not be any good in Texas or Tennessee?? Are all the states RIVALS or something, what they cant stand anything from ANOTHER STATE??? It ALL has to be form THEIR state?? What the.....????

Do you have to become a resident of your employer's state to work for them?
Say,for example that you live in Florida but you want to work for a company that's in Tennessee or Texas, do you have to move to the employers state in order to work for them,or can you work for them while still remaining a resident of your home state? I want to remain a resident of Florida,I want it to be my home state. But the company I'm considering is not here, and I don't wanna be a local driver.

Truckers drive non-stop and can only stop for fuel?
As a trucker, will you get fired if you stop for dinner or lunch or what if you suddenly have to use the bathroom real bad? You cant stop for anything but fuel? Also, about owning a car.....what,you cant own a car because if you do it will be parked six days a week and you can only drive it for one day a week? whats the use of having one ,then? So you don't need a car because you are always in the truck, but since you are always working you can never stop anywhere except for fuel and where your company tells you to go? Well, what the hell??? Are you ****ing out the window? Another question: Who cares more about the safety regulations, my local government community college CDL school or the trucking companies? Do the trucking companies care more about making money than they do government safety regulations? Will they push you to make more of a profit and just let all the DOT regulations fall on you?

DOT physical
What to do when you fail the DOT physical, stop attending the trucking school until you can take another one and pass it,then go back? How many times will the school and/or truck company pay for this physical? The the urgent care told me get my blood pressure and diabetes under control through a docter, come back and she would give me a three month certificate. Then my swift recruiter said she cant hire me unless I get a one year long form. Can I go back to the trucking school with a different company and go to see a different DOT doctor?I get a feeling this woman at urgent care does not like me and if I go back there I'll just get more of the same. Thanks for some advice, because I am trying to finish trucking school and this is the second school Ive been to because the first one I was forced to quit the school and take a job to avoid eviction. The instructor would not let me off early enough to do both work and school.
