I am wondering if a person who has had or has heart problems and is taking medication for it, will be automatically disqualified to becoming employable with any trucking company?
Hoping that I can still be a trucker.
Not necessarily, it depends.
Your cardiologist will likely need to work with the examiner to collectively determine if you are medically qualified. Have you discussed this with your Doctor? Probably a good first step. The FMCSA medical qualifications and exam are publically available at: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov. You might want to print the exam criteria and qualifications for your Doctor to review.
Good luck.
I appreciate the information, Thank you.

I have my learners. I took the test here in Virginia.
Congrats. Your already ahead of 75% of your class. I studied at home religiously however I am waiting to finish the permit at Springfield. What part of VA you from?
Anyone there from WA state? I spoke to a recruiter (Prime Trucking) and she said to wait and get my permit when I arrived at Springfield, MO.
I'm thinking of just getting my permit here in WA State and see what they say when I get there. Can anyone make a suggestion on this?
I will be starting in February 2016.

Interested in finding any Haney Driver's?
I am interested in hearing from anyone driving for Haney Truck Company out of Moxee, WA. I would like to know what you can tell me what a new driver is looking at in regards to pay and treatment from the company, other drivers and dispatchers. If there are any women I would love to hear from you as well.
I am considering driving with them I know that they don't have a driving school program and they don't recommend any one, I have heard bad and good things on them.

Started with Prime Inc.
Happy to say that I started with Prime Inc., (2/22/16), and I have to say the staff and drivers here at Salt Lake City, Utha have treated me with the Up most respect.
I am going out with my instructor on Monday, 2/29/16, if everything goes well I will be returning to the Prime agency here in Utha in 2 to 3 weeks to test form my CDL A.
I do want to recommend this trucking company.
They paid for my bus ride to the hotel and have paid for meals as well. From 2/22/16 through today 2/28/16.
If you do join Prime Inc. Make sure to get your CDL Permit, your Medical Examiner Certificate, and your tanker endorsement, that will save so much time and no headaches.
People do their orientation in 4 days and they get their instructors right away, women take longer to get a instructor if they request a female instructor, so if you don't mind a male instructor you will be going out right away.
Loving my decision to become a truck driver.
Hope this helps.
