Roehl Flatbed

Anyone on here a current Roehl skateboarder? I got an offer from them to get on their Flatbed National division and I'm very interested. But I want to make sure it's worth getting out of my orange truck for. I'm getting 2500 plus miles a week now and would like to see that in the future if I decide to come over to Roehl. But their benefits are much nicer than what I get now, and the ability to take the truck to the house instead of parking 50 miles away seems nice too. And now I'm out 21+ days at a time where Roehl would get me home after 11-14. Any input? I'd appreciate it!

Start orientation at Schneider Green Bay tomorrow.

After a little bit of stress yesterday, I got my driver number today! I got really great remarks from my instructor as well. So far, I feel really great about the way things are going here at Schneider. I'll keep ya posted!

Start orientation at Schneider Green Bay tomorrow.

Well, after breezing thru truck driver school, with the help of the High Road Training Program, I am in my hotel room in Green Bay awaiting orientation tomorrow. I'm very eager to get going with this, and am still a little shocked that it's really happening. So, wish me luck! If anyone has any good advice, I'm all ears. Thanks TruckingTruth!

Trucking Truth CDL Training?

I was just showing the President of the school I'm at your program. I must say, he was thoroughly impressed. It definitely is the reason I easily passed my written exams!

Hey congrats on passing the exams and thanks a ton for showing it off like that!

No problem! Thank you for the work you've put into the program. I'd have to say that it's the most comprehensive training program ive found online yet. It seemed the people at my school agreed!

Schneider, Melton, Western Express, and more!

I have asked a few questions, and received alot of great feedback. Thank you! I used The High Road training program and passed my written tests to get my permit today! So, Schneider gave me a prehire, Melton said they wanna talk when I start school, Western Express gave me a prehire, and some others. I told them all about my checkered past, and they all pretty much say since it's been 10 years in July, that it shouldn't matter. Thanks for all the help guys! I can't wait to hit the road and make some dough!

I got a 3 month medical card....

double-quotes-start.png

I'm looking into going to Pinnacle Truck Driver Training in Cadillac, Mi. I was gonna go to Prime, the Cr England, but I feel like those are too much of a risk to quit my current job. My last post asked about getting on somewhere with a criminal record and it seems that's not a huge deal with it being 10 years old this coming July. My new concern is this, I am type 2 diabetic and got a 3 month medical card at my physical today. Will anyone take me on knowing that I have to come back in 90 days to get an extension?

(forgive me if this has been answered on another thread) - this is NON-INSULIN DEPENDENT TYPE-II, right?

You should have gotten a 1 year card - if there were no other "precluding conditions". Did you bring your medical records and a letter from your doctor stating that you condition was stable and managed?

Rick

Sorry. Not insulin dependant. They looked up my last a1c and it was high because I wasn't on my meds due to my previous meds giving me stomach issues that made it almost impossible to work. My sugars are lower now so I'm not worried about it not getting extended, I'm worried about getting hired with a 3 month card.

I should also mention that I have a phone interview with Schneider next week. They're aware of my criminal record, so I'll ask about the med card then.

Worried about Prime orientation

Ok, so today I talked to CR England. They ran my criminal record and we're good with it. Even went to the secondary approval and was approved. They offered me a position and signed me up for a school that they are contracted with As they don't have their own where I live. So, I'm scheduled to leave on the 16th. Anyone been through their orientation and can give me some insight? The recruiter says I'm hired as long as I pass the school and get my cdl. Is it really that easy, or is my criminal stuff gonna come up again? Again, I'm just real nervous about quitting my job and getting screwed.
