Best way to get CDL without indentured servitude

Got it... Now that you mentioned it, a lot of them post came from ex-employee's and from beginners that probably just weren't cut out for

the training programs or unhappy for whatever mishap they encountered along the way.. I will refrain myself from posting links in the future!

I myself would rather get advice from actual truckers with experience... My interest is in the education process for obtaining the CDL with a

reputable training school... So with that being said, please disregard my recent post regarding rip-off reports...

apologies to anyone offended..

Looking for some input

I appreciate that info... after reading what others have said and yourself I definitely will take the other factors into consideration as well..

I know that truck driving is not for everyone and that there are benefits regardless to which school I attend.. Also realize that there is going to

be some sacrificing along the way... Only thing that I am really worried about is leaving my family behind to pursue this career... I don't want

to lose my house in the process... And I would like to obtain the CDL A endorsement without getting strung along if at all possible.. So I figure

I should be as thorough as possible to make sure that I find a reputable company that can help me achieve this if at all possible.. That's one of

reasons that I joined TT, because I would rather get the facts from those best qualified...

You guys all have posted some great stuff on here, and it is greatly appreciated...

Best way to get CDL without indentured servitude

Im 61, retired a little early , and am considering trucking for a few years before diving into my 401k and social security.

I called ... CRST I think it was, and they paid for training, but they expect you to drive as a team with another guy for 27 days out of 30, before getting 3 days off. Am I missing something... 24 hours a day for 27 days in a little tin box? Don't people lose their minds?!! If they did that to animals they would end up killing each other!

Then I looked into CR England... they train you, but they put a lot of pressure on you to lease one of their trucks before you even know whether you will like the profession. Evidently a high interest rate on the tuition they charge for the training has something to do with it.

I don't mind being out on the road a lot, as I'm by myself, but I would need to have a day or two off a week... or maybe even drive locally. Is that possible? I don't want to get rich... just make enough money to live on for a few years. If I pay for training out of my own pocket can I do that? Thanks for any advice

Hey Dennis,

I am jumping into trucking myself as a career change at 51.. I looked into CR England and seen that they had quite a few bad reviews.. You can look them up here http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/specific_search/CR%20England They were one of the first schools that I checked into, and they seem to have the worst record that I have encountered..

Hope this helps...

Looking for some input

greetings all,

My name is Ron.. Currently I am not a truck driver, however I am looking into a career change..

Would appreciate any input as to what truck driving schools to stay away from and which ones will benefit me more..

I have been doing a little research and I checked into (4) namely CR England, Cardinal, Pam Trucking, and Suburban Truck Driving School..

I am concerned about CR England because when I looked them up I found a lot of bad reviews which has me wanting to look further into my options..

I am leaning more towards Suburban Truck Driving School because they seem to be more focused on training. Not to mention I haven't been able to find a single bad review on them...

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks
