High end gaming laptop/desktop power inverter

I'm not surprised others here are gaming, but didn't expect this thread to have so much discussion. I looked at your link to Asus laptops; not my first time at the site. I think a sager/clevo laptop is my dream laptop because you can get up to 880m sli. Not certain yet if I will buy my dream laptop (9377, or 9570 with desktop cpu) , or something cheaper. I'm considering the 880m sli because of star citizen, and hoping sli will work on oculus rift (very Cool looking virtual reality, check it out if you haven't seen it. I don't think this is a repeat of the 90s failure I've heard about)

I play dota and starcraft right now (not on the truck yet). I want to play elite dangerous and star citizen, and really want the oculus rift when it comes out. My truck doesn't have an app, so I'm thinking a 880m sli laptop would be better than a desktop for now.

Yeah I don't bother with truck stop Internet. I pay a fortune for 30 gigs on verizon instead.

High end gaming laptop/desktop power inverter

I am a gamer and want to buy a high end laptop or desktop to use in the truck. (roughly 3 grand).

One concern is powering either. The laptop of my dreams has a 300 watt power supply. Can I use an inverter plugged in a cigarette lighter to power that? I've heard the fuse has a limit. If not, how much roughly to get someone to install a hard wired inverter?

If I bought a desktop it might use up to 750 watts. So I'm assuming I would probably need a hard wired inverter.

Anyone know how long the truck could run a 300 Watt laptop with engine off?

Broken clutch, can i move?

If i do try to start in gear with the load; is that going to damage the truck? Owner of the truck wants me to move it that way to save a tow charge if they won't let me stay here long enough (they probably won't, but haven't noticed me yet... four pumps, service area on i95).

My clutch made a clang sound and went to the floor. i might want to move the truck a bit (stranded at a pump). The owner of the truck thinks i could start engine in first to move to side of ramp. Will this work with a loaded trailer (44,000)?

Someone will be here to pick up load but not untill tomorrow

Accidents on application

Yeah that is exactly what I am doing; looking for a small company that can give me a chance. Its the only chance I have of finding anything.

I agree with you both; but that trucker friend had me wondering slightly. Unfortunatly my record is pretty bad; I have those 2 incidents and a speeding ticket for 15 over. I merged onto a freeway in oregon and merged with traffic, and immediatly after I got up to speed a cop clocked me (down a hill). I knew about the truck speed limit but didnt realize how fast I was going as I was trying to merge safely with the cars behind me.

Im starting to look for a company that can hire me despite that dismal record. If not I'll keep busy and try again later on.

Hey awesome forum. I have only 2 months experience. Unfortunately I had 2 incidents working. Once I got stuck in a hole I didn't see in the mirror despite looking (I was the third trucker that day to do it.... Evil truck stop). And once I scrapped the skirting on a cement block, which I also filed with the company. My friend in trucking says I shouldn't even admit to these minor infractions on an application.

I worked for the large company CRST International. I think it's best to just admit it, but, what do other truckers think? And is it likely that a company would ever find out? Is it different for a smaller company?
