I think i have the attitude covered, i did some flat bedding in the army, but with ammunition and heavy equipment mostly. i explained to the recruiter, i never lost anything off my truck in the military, and it may not count , but on the weekends i help my father in law tarp and strap his loads down just to give him a break, i like the active lifestyle flatbedding presents to me and it gives me a chance to get out and get some experience. i had tried getting on with heavy haul or a specialized carrier but not having DOT experience really hurt me , thank all you guys for what you do on this forum and out on the road, and like the transportation corps says, WE are the Spearhead of Logistics

Breaking out into the industry

i just got my cdl A - w/ tank/hazmat/x last week, but drove in the us army for 3 years and 5 months, is there anywhere that has that structure like the military, or even considers some driving experience as an 88Mike? I've been looking at flatbedding, talked with a melton and central Oregon recruiter today, both places seem alright, also looking at tmc , or if i have to, ill branch out further to see what i can snatch up. Everyone's input is extremely appreciated, pro's , con's , pay, all of it..
