C1 Trucking school with Swift, Or Knights Squire training?
From my experience OTR I think a lot of Swift drivers are NOT trained properly, but it also depends a lot on you. I would focus on backing up and turning, also on parking particularly in tight spaces. take it easy, know that truck drivers WILL help you if you ask. we are a pretty decent and helpful lot. So ask! also, truck drivers will wait for you to properly park or back up, they won't rush you or think badly of you, so take your time doing it. Oh and I have noticed many swift drivers never slide their tandems much. I honestly think they need more training in that area. But know this, a lot of your training depends on you. Ask your trainer the proper questions. If you have a doubt, ask.

Is Parallel Parking Absolutely Mandatory for Texas CDL Skills Test?
It is mandatory, but if you don't do it perfect, is alright as long as you don't hit anything. I didn't parallel park perfect but did everything else great, and because in texas it is a points system based test, they won't flunk you automatically for one mistake. best of lucks

Someone who already has created their own company? Company will be Texas based. I really appreciate all the help we can get. thanks to the website I got my cdl too last year and we have been company driving OTR, he has a lot more years of experience though, and we think is time we start working for ourselves. thanks!!!!

Should I bother going to CDL School?
You can always call the companies, like US Xpress and other that take new drivers, and they will tell you if they would take u after you have your cdl or get you into school
