Well Shawn, first make sure you have appropriate trainers avaliable second as a woman who just went looking for the right company and school for myself, negatives were being told things such as and I quote " Oh you live in MT well you have to move to another state and get a different licence but we really want you", " Well we really want you but we don't have a lady trainer avaliable for two to three months so go work for... and then come see us"
In addition ditto on making truck as user friendly for the little people, such as five foot me!!!
Other than that we just want to make a living just like any new recruit so be as truthful as you can for my part the truth is the deciding factor.

What did you do before becoming a truck driver?
Waitress, bar tender, cab driver, sheepherder, rodeo clown, flea collar fabricator, flagger, pilot, laborer, scaffold buildler, line locator, traffic control tech, site safety RR project, ..... some of us like variety I am heading for CDL training as an addition to my pursuit of a degree in safety engineering, bored yet?
