There's tons of black drivers out there, so except for a few chuckleheads, racial discrimination won't be a huge issue. Be prepared for gender issues tho. More and more women are joining the industry, so it's getting better, but more people will react to your boobs than your skin color.

I am a black female from california. Which is pretty okay with the race issues. I just get freaked out about real "southern states". I know being a female will be my biggest hurdle. So your comment helped thanks.

Any ladies out there have any advice on why this would be a bad career for a girly girl like me? I am currently in healthcare but i am burnt-out. I am dying of boredom sitting in an office staring at paper. I want to explore america. My only fear is being discriminated again being a black female trucker lol. In healthcare all you need is brains and a smile. But trucking is sooo much more. I havd no kids and I am noy married. I do plan on doing this short term about five years. Then maybe I will advance else where in the field. Anyone ladies start off thinking like me and love it. Please let me know thx.
